day 120...12-31-09

blue moon

To my understanding the phrase "once in a blue moon" (meaning rare) came before the term blue moon referring to 2 full moons in one calendar month as we've had here in December.  Tonight was also a Lunar eclipse although we did not see that here.  I shot this with my 500mm zoom lens.    Happy New Year!

day 56...10-28-09

Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the morning last.
Just kicking down the cobble stones.
Looking for fun and feelin' groovy.
Hello lamppost,
What cha knowing?
I've come to watch your flowers growing.
Ain't cha got no rhymes for me?
Doot-in' doo-doo,
Feelin' groovy.

Got no deeds to do,
No promises to keep.
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep.
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me.
Life, I love you,
All is groovy.

day 48...10-20-09

indoor sunset

this was shot in my dining room at 11pm... the "cloudy sky" in the background is a reflection of the textured ceiling (the wall is a mirror) and the "setting sun" is the dining room light fixture.  The twigs are just part of the decor, from ikea.

day 40...10-12-09

                 tastes like the real thing

I thought I'd post a couple extra shots from my outing today as I did not touch a camera at all in the previous 2 days (head hung down in shame).

day 21...09-23-09

road apples
I was stopped at a red light while on my way to work Wednesday morning. With the windows rolled down, I was grooving and singing to the music that was playing, sippin' a mango madness Booster Juice. All of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I saw objects falling from the sky. They landed on the ground with a thud thud. I looked up...way up. A giant apple tree stood on the corner releasing her autumn bounty to the street corner below. When the light turned green, I turned the corner and stopped rather than proceeding straight through to my destination. This project has demonstrated to me that my routine daily life is rich and ripe with beautiful moments and opportunities for great images if I stop and take notice of the little details around me.

day 18...09-20-09

I have not perfected this technique, but this is still way cool. This is how I shot it no photoshop involved, no tripod either.

I shot this through my windshield while stopped at a stop sign.

day 14...09-16-09

I couldn't decide which one to post. The photo above although poorly edited has a more obvious appeal because we can identify it and flowers are generally pleasing. The abstract shot below I love because well it's just kinda cool.

day 7...09-09-09 theme shadows

We picked the theme shadows for today...thankfully it's a beautiful sunny day with lots of shadows following me around. I headed over to university this morning after I dropped Kaylin off @ school. I had 30 minutes to shoot and get to work on time.
I had several shadow shots to choose from, but what I love about this one, is it's shadow but with detail, texture and colour, almost the antithesis of shadow.

For comparison here is a few more shadowy versions...
